Hit the brakes!

Sorcha's Despair is temporarily on hold.

I have a model from Deviant Art who said she'd send me some reference pictures for that pose. I have a couple of computer models in that pose, which are helpful... however I'm thinking that I need to see it modeled. I'm just not FEELING the anguish, sorrow, despair, hate, anger, rage from the computer models.

I want to be able to put those feelings into the painting.. I must see it.

I downloaded trials of ArtRage 3 and Corel Painter 12. I'm gonna play around with those a little I think.
I also signed up for a year of ImagineFX magazine which I probably shouldn't have done... for financial reasons but I was feeling so down. I wanted it! I can't wait to get the first issue.

So I haven't been able to work on this much today. Busy with cooking... and cleaning house. Taking care of kids...

However it hasn't been far from my mind. I'm still playing around with clothes for her. Here is one suggestion.. I like it quite a bit.  Colors aren't set yet.. but this is just a quick draft.

Working on Sorcha

Sorcha is coming along.... although, I messed up and had to redo a lot yesterday. lol. I was dumb and started drawing on the preview and not the original. So I lost a lot of detail and it was too small. SO I went back to the original and I'm working on it there. It's coming along.

I'm SO TIRED. I have homework due tonight and I haven't looked at it yet....
I'm gonna play some World of Warcraft I think.

I need a small break from using my brain!

Ok here is a preview of what I have so far. I've added some folds into the clothes, and I've redone her hair. Moved the moon, and re-sized it for a better composition. The ocean has yet to be fixed, however with the current format, there won't be too much contrast, because the moon, and the lights on the waves are going to be directly behind her. So I have to ponder this a little more.

The lighting isn't done at all. I am redoing her hand. The hand is going to be open palm up with a "power" in it. This will illuminate the front more. I will have to darken the front for more accuracy, and add a glow around her entire silhoutte.

My first post!

I have a journal on Deviant art, which I will probably just jot down notes and forward them here. I plan to use this blog as a place to talk more about my art, my dreams, and more.

I plan to post Work in Progress pieces here, and I don't know if anyone will even look at it here. I don't have a lot of watchers on Deviant Art, but honestly it will be nice to keep track of everything here, at least for myself and I'm sure my kids will get a kick out of it one day too.
